Last Updated: December 30, 2023
Quizizz respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We comply with the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and will respond expeditiously to claims of copyright infringement committed using our platform.
Copyright Infringement Notification
If you believe that content available on or through Quizizz infringes your copyright, you may send a DMCA notice to our designated Copyright Agent. Your notice must include the following information:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material
- Your contact information, including address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
Counter-Notification
If you believe that content you posted was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification with our Copyright Agent. Your counter-notification must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that has been removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notification
Repeat Infringer Policy
Quizizz has adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, the accounts of users who are deemed to be repeat infringers. We may also, at our sole discretion, limit access to Quizizz and terminate the accounts of users who infringe any intellectual property rights of others.
User Responsibility
Users of Quizizz are responsible for ensuring that any content they upload, share, or distribute through our platform does not violate copyright laws or the intellectual property rights of others. When creating quizzes, users should only use original content, properly licensed materials, or content that falls under fair use provisions.
Educational Fair Use
While educational use may qualify as fair use under copyright law, this does not provide blanket permission to use copyrighted materials. Teachers and students should carefully evaluate whether their intended use qualifies as fair use under the four-factor test: purpose and character of use, nature of the copyrighted work, amount used, and effect on the market value.
